Open Question: Why do we, as a country, have to wait 2 months for the new president to take office?

With all the problems facing the country, why do we need a LAME DUCK president who is doing nothing to help the situation? Bush helped cause this with his big oil buddies! Can we impeach him now for taking away the White House tour for the American people's house or the Freedom Act that took away our privacy and freedom of speech rights guaranteed by the 1st Amendment? Bush's only thing left to do is his pardons - - the only pardon should be to free O.J. Simpson from his Nevada prison because, What is left in Vegas, should stay in Vegas.
